Frankenstein is a novel by the British author Mary Shelley, published in 1818. It tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, who seeks to discover the secret of eternal life. He isolates himself to conduct his experiments until he creates a creature from human body parts. Believing that his experiment has failed, he is shocked to discover that the creature has come to life.
